Wild Origins was founded by chef, forager, freediver, and entrepreneur Paul Moran. He learned to pick morel mushrooms in the foothills of the Okanagan Valley at the age of 12. Since then, Moran has trailblazed paths in both foraging and culinary circles. Working in some of the world’s most celebrated restaurants—both in Canada and abroad.

Moran has enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside foragers who supply the finest establishments. When he was named Top Chef Canada in 2019, Moran solidified his place as a culinary leader in the country.

The idea that learning never ends has powered Paul Moran’s motivation to continue to share both wild food and the knowledge on how to incorporate it into a healthy, joyous lifestyle. Most importantly, Moran seeks to bridge the gap between wild food and the everyday cook. With Wild Origins, that divide becomes smaller with every forage.
